Cargo Granite announces recycled glass worktops in exclusive deal
Cargo Granite is delighted to announce an exclusive partnership with Bottle Alley Glass to supply 100% recycled glass worktops in London and the South East.
The total amount of glass used in the UK is approximately 3.6 million tonnes and 2.5 million tonnes of this is landfilled. Glass is an incredible resource due to its ability to be recycled indefinitely without impact to its quality, which is why glass is proving to be both an environmentally friendly and stylish trend for kitchen worktops
Bottle Alley Glass products are made from recycled household and commercial waste and all are suitable for interior and exterior use. The process involves transforming waste glass first to cullet and then thermally forming the cullet to 'new' glass. Although all products are provided in a standard range, different thicknesses and colourways are also available.
Cargo granite can supply a collection of really innovative design-led products. The reconditioned glass work surfaces are state-of-the-art and make a great feature in a stylish kitchen. As well as being eye-catching they also stand up to the “frying pan test” and can withstand extreme temperatures. The use of mixed materials such as granite worktops and glass splash backs is definitely bang on trend. In addition, unlike marble and granite, lighting applications can be simply used to illuminate specific features such as; central islands, breakfast bars and splashbacks.
